INSPIRATIONS

After a long time not playing my djembe I had recently taken some lessons with this excellent percussion drummer from Togo/Westafrica. He is more than perfect, performing many styles of Westafrican countries.I was inspired to create this soap with Pan African Colors, red, yellow and green. Each stands for a meaning. It is scented with Patchouli fragrance.

In honor to my teacher Maurice Agbolo.
Mercy beaucoup pour l' inspiration.

Venus

The most famous early image of a human, a woman, is the so-called "Venus" of Willendorf, found in 1908 by an archaeologist in an Aurignacian loess deposit in a terrace about 30 meters above the Danube river near the town of Willendorf in Austria.

Above you see the original and the SOAP copy, seductively scented with plumeria fragrance.
Besides the bead version necklace handmade from Moreno glas by a friend of mine. Look at the beautiful shape! Both are waiting to giving you pleasure.

Marzipan Stars

Origins of foods are often difficult to pinpoint, but Luebeck claims to be the place where marzipan was invented. Marzipan, of course, is the confectionery that is molded into shapes of fruits, animals and ornaments, and colored so as to be almost unmistakable from the real thing. Legend has it that a local baker hit upon the idea during the famine of 1407. Having only four ingredients—sugar, almonds, eggs and rose water, he created the sweet confection known as marzipan.

Here comes the soap with almond oil and marzipan aroma. Guess, which one is soap and which one is candy? Yummi, they both taste very fine.

SPIRIT

How many people know what soap really is? Several of the cleansing bars that you buy at the store, for example, are detergents-and not soaps at all. They are called syndet bars, or synthetic detergent bars. They are made from synthesized chemicals and are usually much harsher than soap. Detergents contain petroleum distillates rather than oil. On the other hand, true soap is made from natural oils (such as olive, coconut and palm) and is a gentle cleansing product more appropriate for use on skin than is detergent.

Soaps, unlike detergents, are made by combining sodium hydroxide or lye, oils and water in a process known as "Saponification". Some people may question the use of lye in handcrafted soap. The fact is that all soap is made with lye. What needs to be made clear is that once the process of saponification is complete, the lye and oil molecules have combined and chemically changed into soap and glycerin. There is no lye present in the finished bars of soap.
The oils in my soaps are put there for a specific purpose. The coconut oil creates a wonderful lather. The olive oil is used for a high quality, long lasting bar. Canola and Palm oil carry nutrients to the skin, and the safflower oil make a creamy bar.

Glycerin is a skin soothing emollient that adds to the goodness of handmade soap. In commercial soaps the glycerin is removed for sale to the cosmetic industry to sell separately, sometimes at a higher price than the soap itself! Glycerin is important to skin care because it is a humectant. Humectants draw moisture from the air, which in turn moisturize your skin. A whole 1/5 of a bar of my soap is glycerin.

Milksoaps

Here you can see an update of my latest soap, made from buffalo and camel milk. You must know, in Germany there is only one buffalo farm where you can get fresh milk. Luckily I have found them through my research. This soap is rare. Worldwide not easy to find.

Milk is truly a pure, gentle and natural beauty aid. It´s silky smooth to the touch and has a healthy, rosy glow...which is what many users say they experienced with milk soap products.

Handmade soap is used successfully to aid healing for people suffering from skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and acne, and general relief from dry, itchy skin.
Why not do something good to your body and try handmade soap?

Soap cake for wedding

I have made this "cake" from soap for the wedding of my girlfriend´s brother in Burundi/Africa. She goes home for vacation this August. It is also the beginning of my latest project I am planing to start with my girlfriend in her homeland. We are going to built up a small local business giving an option to the people for better living. Help for selfhelp is demanded. All the necessary oil plants grow there, just the knowhow is missed.

The commercial toilet soap is imported and from chemical material which causes skin damage too often.
Hopefully next year I am going to Burundi and teach soapmaking. One day a small stone becomes a mountain. I believe so.

WARNING this cake is for bath, floral and fruity scented. HAPPY SHOWER!
